Bad news first…

Perhaps the biggest challenge in the process of awakening, at least initially, is being prepared to accept, that perhaps everything you thought you knew, is a lie.

We grow up thinking that we know what life is all about. And based on the indoctrination we are subjected to from childhood, through education, family and society, we go about life with a false sense of security, believing that we know, more or less, who we are, what we want and where we are going.

Having to suddenly face the fact that we are totally clueless, is not easy, nor fun, but it gets even worse when you realize that it’s not just that you are ignorant, it’s that you have been purposefully fooled, conned, manipulated, brainwashed and taken advantage of. Isn’t that just swell???

Good news…

There is however, a positive side to letting go of everything you thought you knew. Suddenly everything must be discovered, and just like when you were a small child, before the indoctrination killed it, your innate curiosity and sense of adventure returns!

Suddenly you want to learn and understand, you want to research and investigate, you want to ask questions and debate, suddenly you are more alive, feeling younger, more eager than ever! Ok, ok… angry too, and frustrated at times, yes and horrified, and heartbroken, but nonetheless alive! Empowered! Awakened!

Now you really want to understand, now you’ve shed your naivety and you’re not having the wool pulled over your eyes ever again!

And so the crazy journey of discovery continues!

A journey with lots of ups and downs and highs and lows and ins and outs and truths and falsehoods! It’s a journey through a minefield.. so you may learn to dodge the trappings of the lies that keep you enslaved. You learn about the system designed to make you believe you are weak, defenseless, powerless, limited and dispensable.

That is the biggest lie of them all and the most wonderful discovery on this journey; the truth about who we are.

That is the reward for having swallowed the very bitter red pill; the understanding that we are divine, creative, powerful beings capable of anything we set our minds to.

It takes a while to fully own that, but as you do, everything changes, because everything changes when you change the way you look at things, and now you are looking at everything from a place of awareness and empowerment.

Nobody said it would be fun, but it sure is fascinating! And we have one another to share it with… and to be stronger because of it.

Let the awakening continue!
